Who I am
I've been making films professionally since 2012. Before starting Studio Clare, I worked across broadcast and production company roles — a background that makes me useful on complicated shoots and fast with the edit.
Most of the work I do is for manufacturers, logistics companies, and B2B clients in the East Midlands. That's not an accident. Industrial environments suit my way of working: there's usually a process worth understanding, a problem worth framing, and a film that will still make sense in five years.
I also do hospitality and events when the brief is right. The common thread is clients who want a film that does a job, not one that just looks busy.
Studio Clare is a one-person studio. Every project I quote is a project I shoot and edit myself.
How I work
Projects start with a brief call or a written brief. I ask a lot of questions at the start so I'm not asking the wrong ones on the day. By the time we're on location I should already understand what the film needs to do, who's watching it, and what counts as success.
I work alone on most shoots. For larger projects — multi-camera, multi-day, or anything that needs specialist sound — I bring in crew I've worked with before. The point of contact stays the same.
Turnaround is usually two to three weeks from shoot to delivery. Rush jobs are possible with notice. I don't charge for the first revision round.
